Spring Break 2009!

Our spring break was very eventful! We first drove to St. George, then to Colorado City... we drove all through the town... it was kinda scary.

Then we drove to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (but it was closed until next week :( ). We stayed at the Marble Canyon Lodge.
Then we went to Lee's Ferry.

After our road trip, we went to work with Matt! All of the cows were having babies so it was ultra fun! The babies were so cute!

We had so much fun we didn't want to go back to school! :(

Hope you're all having a great day!

Goin' Fishin' in the Dark

Here's a picture of the saddle Andy just finished.

Here's a cute picture of Andy slaving away at his Math 1050 homework.
He hates math but... he passed his test on Friday! WOO! HOO!

So, our friend Joel invited us ice fishing Saturday. I had never been ice fishing before so I was really excited. We left at 7:00pm.

Drilling the holes was a little scary because I thought it was going to be like it is in cartoons and cause the entire lake to crack and bust open!

We set up a tent, had a heater and roasted hot dogs!

We fished, and fished, and fished and before we knew it.... it was 5 in the morning!!!
We didn't get home till six.
We had to teach a church lesson at noon the next day. We figured we'd wake up in time (so we didn't set our alarm).

WE WOKE UP AT 11:57! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
We went into panic mode. We couldn't do anything but run around frantically and try to get there.

Luckily, sacrament meeting got over late and we made it to our class just in time.

Hope you all are having a good day!

Valentine Suckers

We decided to make cinnamon suckers for Valentines Day this year. We got all of our equipment (mise en place) and got ready to go... The first batch was too weak and Andy wanted them super strong.

We put 1/8 tsp. cinnamon flavoring in the first batch. Andy decided on an entire tsp. for the second batch! We dumped in the flavor and the entire pan started smokin'. I accidently huffed a huge amount of the cinnamon steam smoke and thought I was going to die. I hurried to hand the pan to Andy and tried to warn him just as he inhaled a "lungfull". We both nearly died. It burned our noses and took about 10 minutes for us to get over it.

We survived and the suckers were delicious!

An Eventful Weekend...

FRIDAY!

We had a very eventful weekend...
First off... Ryan (my little brother) came home from an LDS mission in Richmond, Virginia! We met him at the airport along with the rest of the family (including aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas and cousins). It was pretty exciting.
We were supposed to wait at the bottom of the escalator but we couldn't. Me and Lex (my sis) snuck up the stairs and my mom followed shortly. We waited forever and finally...

I saw him far across the distance and screamed "RYYYYAAAAAANNNNN!" so loud that everyone in the entire airport could hear. I just couldn't keep it in. I hadn't seen him for 2 years! It was so exciting! I love my little bro!

SATURDAY!!!

On Saturday we had a much needed adventure.

And it wasn't even that cold!
We took Jose (our cute baby!), Corky, Fuzz, Virg, Sharon, Spike, Carl, Will, Moose, Al, and The Blue Bomber.

We saw a bald eagle at the end of the day!

My First Post :)

Hello.
Nikki Neves here. I decided I better start following the crowd. Welcome to our blog!
Update on us...
Andy is studying Agriculture Education at Utah State University. He builds saddles and does other custom leather work (see our Neves Custom Leather blog).
I am going to start a long term substitute job next Monday. I started my Master's degree this semester (wish me luck).
