Pretzels for the Cows?

Ty loves to help. Whenever we feed, he wants to be in the manger, not just close by, inside! The other day he was trying to feed these little mamas pretzels.

Life: Does it ever slow down?

So yes, I realize it's been 5 months since my last post but, Where did the time go? Does life ever slow down? I remember thinking during college that I would have less to do once the semester got over and summer came, then when summer was here, I couldn't figure out how I was busy-er (is that even a word?) than I was during the semester.
Five months ago I wrote a great blog post about our next child titled "Pink or Blue?" and I thought I would update just 2 days later after my ultrasound... 5 months down the road... Here goes...

Life is busy!

Since my last post I've been getting ready for baby #2, working part-time, trying to take good care of baby #1, attempting to keep the house clean and the laundry done and getting the dinner cooked and finding time to hang out with the husband.

I haven't been blogging because,
Uploading pictures just seems like it would take sooo long.

But this post just took about 10 minutes TOTAL so I'm hoping to start updating more often.

Right now I'm holding Baby #2 SHE (Surprise. It's a girl!)is so great.

We're all doing great over here.
Life is good.

and, hopefully I'll update again before 5 months have passed.

Pink or Blue?

Baby number 2 is scheduled to arrive December 17 (but I'm hoping he or she decides to come a little early, the 17th is too close to Christmas).

We have an ultrasound on Wednesday.

Boy or girl?

What do you think?

Maybe I should rip out one of my hairs and hang my wedding ring above my belly with it and... (anyone ever heard that trick? does it work?)

I think it's a boy. But, I thought Ty was a girl, and I don't care at all either way!

Maybe it's twins.

The Happiest Place on Earth

We went to California a couple weeks ago. Ty loved swimming so much he decided to go swimming in a mud puddle the other day when we weren't watching. We took Ty to Disneyland. We were determined to get our money's worth ($105 per adult, ouch) so we spent 14 hours in the park one day. Ty loved the rides, especially the Dumbo Flyer Ride.

He cried when he had to get off.
He also cried when we took him on the Bugs Life video ride. Spiders were coming out of the ceiling, fog was blowing in our faces, it was dark, and scary. I felt bad. I thought he would be okay because he didn't cry for Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow White, or any of the other scary indoor rides.

Hopefully, we'll be back soon.

Spring Break 2011

For Spring Break we had a lot of things planned,
#1 Camp in the desert
#2 See Natural Bridges National Monument
#3 See Hovenweep
#4 See Mesa Verde
#5 Hike through a canyon (can't remember the name) near Cedar Mesa
#6 Find a really cool ruin that Andy won't let me name (it's secret)
#7 See the Aztec Ruins in New Mexico
#8 See 4 Corners Monument
#9 Hike to Delicate Arch
#10 Find an arrowhead, full anasazi pot, and spanish gold.

Our friend tagged along and asked us if we were planning on getting all of these done in a week, or a month.
A week of course...

Well, out of our list of 10, we completed about 4.

We camped in the desert, saw natural bridges,

SAW MESA VERDE! It's been on our list for a while now.

Found a secret ruin, but not the one we were looking for.

Hiked to Delicate Arch, Double Arch and the North and South Windows.

And we found some pieces of pottery. No Gold, No Arrowheads. Of course we left the pottery there, I don't want to go to jail for looting an archaelogical site!

Hopefully we'll be back soon to check the rest off our list.

Memories

Meet Kalee... (pretend there is a current picture here) This is us 23 years ago. We were born in the same hospital on (almost) the same day. We were lucky to grow up together. I remember playing on the trampolene at my Grandma's house for hours on Sunday afternoons. My grandma was "super cool" and let us take her blankets outside so we could play exciting games like "snake in the grass" and "candyland" (a game we invented ourselves). Here is a picture of all of our Crandall cousins (check out Megan). We played city league volleyball together for years. One year, we were champions! She was super good and I was just average. We went skiing all the time in the winter. We had a bus that would take 50 kids to The Canyons Resort every weekend and turn us all loose (one time, I got left at the resort). Every once in a while, we could talk our parents into letting us out of school to go. Here we all are at our annual Lake Powell family reunion. We participated in some extreme "water weenie wars", family games, fishing, and wakeboarding. Sometimes we fought over the same boyfriends, but mostly, we had different tastes (so it all worked out).

In our early years of highschool, she made the volleyball team (I got cut), she made the cheer squad (I got cut) and we didn't hang out as much.

When we were seniors, we hung out at a Leadership retreat in St. George, got to raft the mighty Grand Canyon, coached a little girls volleyball team together, and were even Homecoming Queens.

After highschool, she went to UVU, I went to USU. Before I knew it, she was engaged, and before she knew it, I was.

We both got married to good husbands and have sweet children. She has a degree in Health Education and I have a degree in Home Ec Education.

For 2 years, I have taught Child Development to high school students. I teach a unit on SIDS. I have always taught the unit without really thinking about it.

Just one month ago, Kalee lost her sweet baby to SIDS. And while we're lucky to know that we will see him again, it has been difficult for all members of our family.

I decided to post this so you all would have a chance to read the website she and her husband have created. The amazing things she has written have inspired many. This website had over 6,000 views within the first 3 days it was created.

Make sure you read the "updates" section in order, beginning with Our Story written on March 9th.

I think we (our extended family) would all agree that this event has brought us closer together and helped us get our priorities in order.

Thank you Kalee, for letting us into your life and helping us all be better.

We (especially I) love you!
